I guess I just don’t get it. The Republicans, being extorted by the Tea Party, are willing to wreak havoc and destroy the US economy to ensure that a Republican wins the presidency in 2012, leaving him (or God forbid her, viz. Michele Bachmann or Sarah Palin) an even larger, impossible mess to clean up than Obama inherited in 2009. In terms of not raising taxes, the market reaction to the debt ceiling fiasco has cost me ten times more than any tax hike would have! —drego
