Internet Blackout Day’s effect on SOPA/PIPA congressional support
Rep. Lamar Smith, the chief sponsor of the ‘Stop Online Piracy Act’ (SOPA), dismissed the opposition to SOPA as illegitimate and of minor importance. Oh really?! —drego
Rep. Lamar Smith: Idiot of the day!
Rep. Lamar Smith, the chief sponsor of the ‘Stop Online Piracy Act’ (SOPA), has dismissed the opposition to SOPA as illegitimate and of minor importance.
WTF? Have you been paying attention at all to who opposes this bill?
AOL, Boing Boing, Creative Commons, Daily Kos, Disqus, Bay, Etsy, Facebook, foursquare, Google, Grooveshark, Hype Machine, Kickstarter, Kaspersky, LinkedIn, Mozilla, MetaFilter, OpenDNS, O’Reilly, Radar, Reddit, Techdirt, PayPal, Torrentfreak, Tumblr, Twitter, TechCrunch, Yahoo!, Zynga, Scribd, YCombinator, Wikipedia, Reddit, Namecheap, Petzel, ICanHasCheezburger, Quora Embedly, MediaTemple, CloudFlare, StackExchange, Github, Linode, Hostgator, Square, The Huffington Post, Craigslist, ESET, 4chan. Yeah, real light-weights!
Mitt Romney: Sleezeball of the day!
Romney’s recent campaign ad: “If we keep talking about the economy, we are going to lose.”
Oh wait! I’m sorry. That was out of context. Romney’s attack ad actually quoted Obama saying, “If we keep talking about the economy, we are going to lose.”
Oh wait! That too was out of context. Here is Obama’s complete statement from his 2008 campaign: “Senator McCain’s campaign actually said, and I quote, ‘If we keep talking about the economy, we’re going to lose.’” Romney’s ad blatantly ‘forgot’ to include the first part of Obama’s quote.
Shame on you, Mitt, for being such an unmitigated asshole. —drego

Congress: Idiots of the day!
Congress says pizza is a vegatable
“The final version of the House and Senate’s agriculture spending bill bucks recommendations by the Department of Agriculture to try to make school lunches healthier. The bill counts pizza sauce as a vegetable — as it is now — and resists efforts by the Agriculture Department to limit servings of starchy vegetables and sodium restrictions.” Read more…
Bill O’Reilly: Idiot of the day!
“According to Ford’s Theatre, the historic site that commemorates the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, Bill O’Reilly’s new book about the 16th president, Killing Lincoln, is so factually flawed that it shouldn’t be sold at its bookstore.” Read more…
Donald Trump: Idiot of the day!
Donald Trump “vlogs” about how racist Jon Stewart is: WTF?
Maybe I’m also racist since I don’t see any racism in Stewart’s skewering of Herman Cain’s emerging charges of sexual harassment and general ineptitude. Trump doesn’t bother to provide evidence of racism, he just rants that Stewart (a past harsh critic of Trump) has hurt the African-American community and deserves to be pulled from the air. I look forward to Stewart’s reaction on this evening’s Daily Show. —drego
